Welcome to the website of Ecclestone Law Professional Corporation Société Professionnelle.
Kiingston and area is in the green zone, but the rest of the province is in various stages of lockdown or stay at home orders under a second state of emergency and further orders under the Emergency Measures and Civil Protection Act and the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to Covid-19) Act (and regulations made under those acts), including this Order in Council. The Ontario government's summary information is here and with the courts operating virtually with limited if any in person hearings for the foreseeable future, our offices are open only for pre-arranged, essential, in person appointments booked in advance. Where possible we will arrange meetings including initial consultations for new clients using internet based video-conferencing such as Zoom. Our primary concern is the health and safety of our clients and staff. Our protocol for such meetings will be explained when the meeting is booked. If an in person meeting is scheduled, all attendees must wear a mask which covers their nose, mouth and chin at all times during the meeting, must not have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days, must not have been in close contact with a person confirmed or suspected of having Covid19 and must not have any symptoms of Covid-19. The Ontario Ministry of Health Covid 19 Screening Form is available here. Our lawyers and staff may still working remotely and coming in to the office occasionally or as needed - but even when our office is staffed, our door will be locked. Our office is not open to the public. Only people with previously booked appointments who have not travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days, who have no symptoms of COVID19, who have no known recent exposure to anyone who has tested positive for COVID19, who are wearing a mask or face covering will be admitted. We provide hand sanitizer and ask anyone coming to our office to use it upon arrival. We are monitoring our faxes (613) 384-0731, our email messages and our voice mail messages remotely. We will return messages as quickly as we can. Existing clients are asked to contact the lawyer, paralegal, or staff person with whom they are dealing by email wherever possible. (E-mail addresses available here - opens in new email program window) Here are links to the courts' bulletins on how they are responding to Covid-19: > Superior Court of Justice (Criminal, Civil, Estates, Family, Child Protection) > Ontario Court of Justice (Criminal, Provincial Offences) > Kingston Provincial Offences Court Here are the disclaimers: 1) There is no legal advice on this web site 2) We are not responsible for the content of sites other than our own 3) Nothing on this site creates a solicitor/client relationship.
